Eunice E. (O’Donnell) Austin

Eunice E. (O’Donnell) Austin, 75 of Schuylerville passed away at home May 14th after a long battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Elizabeth O’Donnell.  She was married to Gordon K Austin who pre-deceased her July 12, 2000. 

Eunice was a lifelong area resident, previously employed by Mary McClellan Hospital and Thomas Poultry Farm.  Her survivors include sons Ron, Scott and Leslie and daughter Carol.  Grandchildren are Scott, Ashley and Travis, Torre, Leola and Brandon, Roman, Leslie, and Kevin.   Also Arletta Derby, deceased.  Six great grandchildren are Cody, Caden, Sydney, Chelsey, Brielle and Ajahnae.

Eunice enjoyed scrabble and yatzee with Peggy Fitzgerald and was also a big fan of Chuck Norris and the N.Y. Giants.

Service will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Veterans Cemetery 200 Duell Rd Schuylerville NY, on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:30 AM.

Richard S. McAllister





Richard S. McAllister

Richard S McAllister passed away on May 13, 2013 at Saratoga Springs Hospital after a short illness.
His wife Patty was at his side.  He was born May 28, 1941 in McKeesport, Pa to the late Paul and Hannah Kite McAllister.

He was a driver for Unifirst Corporation retiring after 37 years of service in 2005.He enjoyed Model Railroading and Stamp Collecting. 

He is survived by his wife Patty Barnes McAllister, Two step-sons Peter Salamone and James Hammond and wife Shelly.  Three step-daughters Patricia Mormile and husband Timothy, Victoria and Colleen Hammond.  Along with four grandsons.

Dick was pre-deceased by his brother Thomas.

Donations in his memory can be made to either the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

James L. Cooley



James L. Cooley


James L Cooley, age 73, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, May 1st 2013 at Saratoga Hospital.

He was born on March 29th 1940 in Schenectady, NY to Violet & Harry Cooley.

Jim worked for Sheet Metal Worker’s, Local #83 for 27 years until his retirement in 1995.  Jim married the love of his life, Linda “Lindy” (Muscanell) Cooley, on November 27th, 1965.  They enjoyed 47 wonderful years of marriage.

Jim was fun loving and had a lovable personality.  He was an avid New York Giants fan and was always telling jokes and loved to make people laugh.  Jim was a devoted husband and father and grandfather with much love for his family.  He played softball, loved to learn about history, reading war books & westerns. He coached little league, enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and watching hockey.  His favorite getaway was the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.  He was also very artistic.     

Survivors include Wife Lindy, Children Karen (Steve), Howard (Jessica), Colleen (Dave), Edward (Jodi), James (Carrie), Grandchildren Andrew, Alex, Danielle, Amanda and Alyssa who affectionately call him GOG. Sister Cecelia (Edward) Baczkowski, Father-in –law John (Fran) Muscanell & several Brothers-in-laws, Sisters-in-laws, nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Violet, Emily, Mary Lou, Lillian, Brothers Harry & Bud, mother-in-law Marion.

Jim’s family would like to express their sincere admiration and special thanks to Dr. Daoui, and Dr. Del Giacco for their compassionate and excellent care and for going above and beyond.

Funeral service in honor of James L. Cooley will be held on May 5th, 2013 at 4 pm, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave (Route 9), Saratoga Springs N.Y. 12866.  Friends and family may call between 1pm to 4pm prior to the service.   Jim would not want you to feel obligated to wear a suit and tie.  Please dress comfortably. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of James Cooley, to the Wilton Emergency Squad, 1 Harran Lane, Wilton, NY 12831.
