Dorothy Lorayne Urdaneta




Dorothy Lorayne Urdaneta, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends. She had just turned 93 on January 1st. We would like to express our gratitude to the compassionate and caring hospital staff members who tended to her in the final days.

She was born in 1923 in Loving, TX, one of seven children of the late Leonard  and Ada Purselley.  Lorayne married Rafael Urdaneta in 1941 and moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela where she lived for 71 years.  Saratoga became her new home four years ago in order to be close to her daughter, Vivian. For a year and a half Lorayne resided at The Home of The Good Shepherd where she made good friends.

Lorayne was a wonderful and loving person who always put the needs of others before her own.  Above all, Lorayne was absolutely devoted to her husband and children.  

She is survived by her son, Rafael A. Urdaneta, her two daughters Vivian Urdaneta  and Mavalynne Urdaneta, their spouses, 11 grandchildren , 21 great grandchildren, her youngest brother Wayne Purselley and wife Barbara and her widowed sister in law Frances Purselley.

At Lorayne’s request, she is being cremated. There will be no funeral home visitation.  A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday,  February 9th  at 10:00 am at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs with the Rev.Timothy Keating C.Ss.R. presiding.

Arne (Lindy) Gulbrandsen


SARATOGA SPRINGS - Arne (Lindy) Gulbrandsen, 88, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 15, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles and Ingrid (Lorvold) Gulbrandsen.  On July 24, 1954 he married the love of his life, Theresa Doscher.  They spent 59 wonderful years together.

Until his retirement, Lindy was a sales representative for J.H. Calo in Westbury, NY.  After he retired, he enjoyed volunteering in area schools with learning disabled children.  For many years, he sang in the choir at the Congregational Church of Manhasset, NY.  He loved to read and loved being around people.

Robert E. Garcia


Robert E. Garcia, aged 33, died on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 unexpectedly in Glens Falls, NY.

Robert was born on July 20th, 1982 in Manhattan NY, the son of Ramon Garcia and Silvia Lemus.

He attended Glens Fall High School and graduated from St. Joseph's in Vermont, with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

Robert served his country with the United States Army in Kosovo as an Airborne Artillery Man in support of the War on Terror.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Thomas M. Jablonski


Thomas M. Jablonski, age 60, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 13, 1956 in Amsterdam, NY to the late B. John Jablonski and Josephine Sterba.

Tom graduated from Amsterdam High School, class of 1974 and Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Architectural Design.

Wesley Morris Jr.

Wesley Morris Jr., age 58, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 unexpectedly at Saratoga Hospital. 

He was born on September 23, 1957 in Sierra Vista, Arizona to the late Wesley Morris Sr. and Dorothy Horton.

Wesley was a Group Leader at Espey Manufacturing for many years.  He was very enthusiastic about technology, especially one who enjoys the advances in computers, be it surfing the net, doing work, playing games or Facebooking.  He was a loving, kind and caring person always willing to help others.

Clifford L. Hoag


Clifford L. Hoag, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 7, 1938 in Town of Moreau, NY to the late Leo Hoag and Isabelle Potter.

Clifford was a truck driver for Agway for many years.  He loved boating, Nascar Racing, and he loved John Deere Tractors.  He also enjoyed his Model A “Hattie” and doing parades. He especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He was a long time truck driver and he would say all the time “I could back up more miles than most people drove forward”.  Clifford inspired everyone he met with his gentleness and love.  He loved to laugh and cause laughter, he had a joke for everyone. He was very kind-hearted and will be greatly missed.

William F. "Bill" Cole

June 18th, 1940 – January 10th, 2016

On the morning of January 10th, 2016, Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, in New York, at the age of 75.  Bill was born in Divines Corners, New York, to the parents of William J. Cole and Alice Geer, as the younger brother to Arthur Cole and twin to Robert Cole. 

Bill was well loved by those in his family and community.  Although stricken early on with a debilitating disease, Bill could always be relied on for his sense of humor, his determination to continue to walk and never once complained about the many hardships he endured.  Bill was actively involved in the betterment of his country and community serving for the United States Army Reserves, Schrade Walden Cutlery in Ellenville, NY and plant foreman for 3D Block in Bridgeville, NY and Loch Sheldrake Liquror Store.  He volunteered as a Town of Fallsburg Little League coach until 1982; President of the Hurleyville Fire Department and an active member for 45yrs. In later years, he moved to enjoy warmer weather and close family ties in North Carolina. 

Gordon Garner Katz


Gordon Garner Katz, age 63 passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2016 at his family home in Wilton.

He was born on August 18, 1952 in Ossining, New York to Morris Katz and Natalie Garner.

Gordon worked at BJ Wholesale as a tire specialist for 10 years. 

Gordon enjoyed racing, camping cooking kayaking and hiking. He also loved taking pictures of everything and everyone. Gordon was known as the man about town. He was loved by everyone and enjoyed his daily time spent at Congress Park.

Steven C. Denegar


WATERFORD - Steven C. Denegar, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at home.

He was born on November 24, 1984 in Albany, NY to Michael Snider and Ellen Mapes.   

Steven was a cook at TJ’s CafĂ© in Albany for many years.  Steven loved to cook, and skate boarding, and most importantly, he loved to dance and was a comedian. He was a man with a big heart and a sense of humor that made him friends with all who met him.
