Eleanore Mousseau Coon

Stillwater – Eleanore Mousseau Coon, 60, of Stillwater, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital with her daughters at her side.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1953 the daughter of the late Edward J. and Jacqueline Masse Johnson.

Eleanore was raised in Cohoes NY and graduated from Shaker High School of Latham, NY in 1971.  She then obtained her associates degree in computer science.
Eleanore was a kind,  loving, wife, mother & grandmother. She enjoyed camping, arts & crafts, gardening, scary movies, cooking and most of all spending time with her children & grandchildren.  She will be cherished, remembered & greatly missed be all.

Eleanore is survived by her daughters Kristie Mousseau DeVoe, Carrie Slack (William), Stefanie Mousseau (Jonah), and Jennifer Mousseau; her brothers Michael Johnson, Thomas Pottenburgh (Kim), and Joseph Pottenburgh;  her sisters Carolyn Van Vranken and Jacquelyn Arnold; and her grandchildren Jeremy Mousseau, Christopher DeVoe, Alyssa DeVoe, Kaden Slack, Madden Slack and her best friend Laurie Lyons (Yik & Yak)

Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs.  Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Richard Andrew Winslow


Richard Andrew Winslow, 70, of Gansevoort died Sunday August 18, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital with his loving family at his side.

Born December 30, 1942 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Richard Frost Winslow and Kathleen Louisa (Phelps) Winslow and he grew up in Glens Falls, NY.

Richard served his country in the US Navy from 1960 - 1980.  He retired as a Chief Petty Officer.

On March 13th, 1965 he married the love of his life, Natalie Theresa Terrell.

He was employed at the Foster Wheeler Company in Hudson Falls, NY where he worked as a control room operator.  He retired in 2004.
  
His past-times included boxing, hunting, gardening, bird watching and everything related to being outdoors.

Richard is pre-deceased by his father and mother Richard and Kathleen, sisters Dorothy, Linnie and his brother Franklin Winslow.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Natalie Theresa Terrell of Gansevoort, NY and his 4 sons, Ronnie Call (Gina), Richard Winslow Jr., Steven Winslow (Sherry), and William Winslow (Tessie); sisters  Flossie Ireland of South Glens Falls and Joyce Wilm of Warrenton, Virginia.
  

Richard is pre-deceased by his father and mother Richard and Kathleen, sisters Dorothy, Linnie and his brother Franklin Winslow.  



Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 23 at Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs followed by a committal service at 12:30 pm at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 9:00am to 10:45am prior to the service on Friday, August 23 at the funeral home.  A luncheon celebrating Richard's life will be held for all family and friends at the Elk's Lodge directly behind the funeral home at 2:00pm.

Dorothy H. Pratt



Dorothy H. Pratt  

Dorothy H. Pratt, age 85, passed away from complications of pneumonia on Friday, August 16th, 2013, at Saratoga Hospital

She was born in Saratoga, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Lilian Burton King.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Edward and spent 70+ years together raising their 13 wonderful children. 

Dorothy loved children and enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her son Edward Pratt, Jr.; Robert Pratt, (Linda); John Pratt; Tricia Flanders; Robin Conine; Carol Morehouse; Joyce Corlew (Kevin); and Charmaine Elwele; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; children; Donna Akins, Kelly Stuart, William Pratt, Lawrence Pratt and Paul Pratt.

A graveside service will be held at 1p.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Friends and family may call on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 from 11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., (Rte. 9) Saratoga Springs, NY.

Judy Gonyeau Green

Judy Gonyeau Green Sanders  

Judy Gonyeau Green, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2013, after an accident.   

She was born in Glens Falls, NY the daughter of the late John H Gonyeau and late Dorothy Snody.

Judy was a free spirit who enjoyed the outdoors.

Judy is survived by her daughter Shannon Tracey (Michael) and granddaughter Phoebe Tracey, of Gansevoort, NY, sisters Jan Murphy (William), Gansevoort, NY, Joanne Generous (Lonnie) of Gloucester, VA, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her nephew Jamie Generous.

Christina P. Baldasaro

Wilton
Christina P. Baldasaro of Paddock Circle and a longtime resident of Heather Drive in Wilton, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at her home. 

Born on July 15, 1931 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Christina (Casella) Trefz.  Subsequent to her mother’s passing at an early age, Christina was raised by her father and stepmother, Margaret Trefz

Christina met her future husband John P. Baldasaro at a High School basketball game in 1948 and they have been together ever since.  On Dec 27, 1952, they married and they enjoyed 61 wonderful years of marriage.

She grew up in Bronx, NY and was a graduate of Hunter College (CUNY) with a degree in elementary education.  She completed graduate work in home economics at Plattsburgh State Teachers College.  She taught home economics at Mechanicville City School District, retiring after 20 years of service.  She enjoyed teaching young students and always looked forward to her annual fashion shows.

In addition to her being a devoted wife and mother, she was a skilled and patient gardener with an enviable eye for landscape design.  She was a masterful cook who also enjoyed sewing,  bird watching and visits from her “grand dogs” Murphy and Hershey. 

Christina  is survived by her loving husband John P. Baldasaro of Wilton; daughters,  Anne Gongoleski and her husband Philip of Wilton and Joan Baldasaro of Raleigh, NC; son, John Baldasaro and his wife Bonnie of Clifton Park; sister, Margaret Harkins of New Jersey;
Granddaughter, Wendy (Baldasaro) Gaughan and her husband Thomas of Clifton Park. She has one great-grandson Thomas John Gaughan.
A grandson Conor Nelson pre-deceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, August 15 at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs.  The Rite of Committal will be held at 12 Noon at Saratoga National Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family wishes a donation to the Saratoga Hospital Foundation in appreciation for the excellent care she received.

Lee J. Smith

Lee J. Smith

Lee J. Smith of Bayville and Saratoga Springs, NY died on August 2, 2013 following an extended illness.  Lee fought hard, always with a smile and never complained. 
He was born on December 2, 1942 in Glen Cove, NY to the late Joseph and Catherine Smith. 

Lee was a dedicated Glen Cove High School English teacher for over 30 years and a recipient of Teacher of the Year Awards during his career. He was also the proud owner of Lee J Smith Associates in Bayville, NY, a business he built from the ground up beginning in 1974.

Lee was a founding member of the Bayville-Centre Island Rotary Club. He was a Paul Harris recipient.
Lee was an esteemed member and former trustee of Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club and  also a Beaver Dam Winter Sports Club member.

Lee enjoyed Saratoga Springs thoroughly, its charm and history and his love of thoroughbred racing, particularly when Funky Munky Mama would win.

Lee had a gift of making you feel like you were his best friend and family five minutes after you meeting him.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, son Damon and wife Dana and son Derek and two grandsons, Justin and Kyle and sister Deborah Boyle (Bruce) and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother Gregory and Marbles.

Funeral service in honor of Lee will be held at Compassionate Funeral Care 402 Maple Ave. (Rte. 9) Saratoga Springs, NY on Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia officiating.
Friends and family may call on Mon. Aug. 5, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.  Internment following the service at St. Peter’s cemetery, 150 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY.
