Lucille Joy Trieste
Trieste, Lucille Joy, Saratoga Springs NY died Friday morning, June 14, 2014 at the Wesley Community where she lived.
Born in Brooklyn on November
8th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Filbert and Adelina LaRosa.
Lucille graduated from
LaFayette High School, Brooklyn, NY.
She then married her
childhood sweet heart Mario Trieste on Dec. 23, 1950, and they had a remarkable
fun-filled life together for over 64 years.
Lucille will be remembered by
all that met her as a very kind and gentle person with a beautiful smile and
blue eyes that sparkled. Her love for her family was unconditional and she shared
her heart freely and compassionately with all that knew her. She loved animals, both domestic and wild and
took in strays when in need of a home. She loved to cook and her table was
always filled with delicious Italian food. Lucille liked to play in life,
always joking or finding ways to make others feel good. Her favorite sports included
golfing and bowling.
She is survived by her
husband, Mario; her 3 daughters, Deborah Whelan (James), Marion Trieste, and
Diane Trieste; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie and Chelsea; 5 great
grandchildren, Natalie, Sophia, Bradley, Macy, and Rylen; brother, Joseph LaRosa;
brother in law, Richard; sister in law, Ann; best friend, Jean; and several
nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Lucille’s
life will be held on Thursday June 19, 2014, 3:00 p.m., at Compassionate
Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte. 9/ Marion Ave.) where friends and family may
call from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
There will be a private
family Interment, Friday at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell
Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
Lucille’s family would like
to thank all of the staff at Wesley Nursing and Hospice for the care,
compassion and friendship they provided her during her time with them. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to the Humane Society animal shelter.
