Gary Michaud, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, February 10,
2015 in the home he built surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 29, 1951 in Hempstead, NY to Norbert
Michaud and the late Genevieve Maddox.
Gary was a proud Vietnam veteran who served his country with
honors, receiving the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service Medal
with two Bronze Star service medals, the Mechanic & Driver’s badge, and the
Expert Rifle badge.
Gary married the love of his life, Mary Jo on March 28, 1981
and they had a remarkable fun-filled life together for over 33 years. He worked as an electrician and department
supervisor for the Saratoga County Buildings and Grounds for many years.
Gary enjoyed hunting and he loved cars, NASCAR Jimmy
Johnson. He particularly enjoyed being a
member of The Goat Brothers Motorcycle club for 10 years and racing his own car
at Albany/Saratoga Speedway.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Mary Jo Peck
Michaud, sons; Jason Lont, Tyler Michaud, and daughter; Jenalyn Michaud,
grandchildren; Isaac, Levi and Kamiila, brothers; Bob (Edie) Michaud, Raymond
(Betsy) Michaud, Greg (Eileen) Michaud, sisters; Beverly Lant, and Cathy
Michaud (Mike Jones).
He is preceded in death by his mother Genevieve Maddox
Michaud and nephew; John Lant Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday,
February 13, 2015 at Compassionate Funeral Care. Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave,
Saratoga Springs, New York.
Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National
Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
A special thanks to Dr. Jenny Romero’s Oncology office and
all our friends and family that supported Gary through his long battle with
cancer. The family wishes to express and sincere “Thank you” to the caring
staff at Hospice for all their support.
