Lawrence M.
LoMonico, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home after a
lengthy battle with leukemia and Parkinson’s.
He was born
in 1939, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Michael C. LoMonico and May Iannello
LoMonico.
Lawrence
graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY. He entered Syracuse University where he
graduated with a BA in Psychology and Marketing and an MS from the Newhouse
School of Journalism. He is a Veteran
of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1967 with the
rank of Captain. He served at Shepard
AFB in Wichita Falls, TX and Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, TX.
From 1970
until 1976, Lawrence was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. Lift Truck
Division-Europe. He was Regional Sales
Manager in Rome, Italy, for the Mediterranean countries and Sales Development
Manager, Geneva, Switzerland.
From 1976
until 1980, Lawrence was Global Pricing Manager and Parts Sales Manager for
Fiat-Allis Construction Equipment, Inc. in Deerfield, Illinois.
From 1980
until 1999, he was employed by Yale Materials Handling Corp. in Flemington, NJ
as Parts Marketing Manager, Sales Development Manager and Yale Financial
Services Manager, a retail/wholesale financing branch, which he conceived and
developed jointly with GE Capital. He
was also Vice President of Parts and Marketing Field Sales and Vice President
of YALE FLEET, which he created and built.
From 1999
until 2003, Lawrence was employed by TOYOTA Industrial Equipment in Torrance
and Irvine, California, as National Fleet Manager.
In 2003, he
retired with his wife Scheryl to Upstate, NY.
He created Saratoga Strategic Planning LLC and consulted pro bono for
non-profits such as North Creek-based North Country Ministry and Saratoga-based
Academy for Lifelong Learning, and for both he developed successful long-range
plans.
He had a
passion for music, especially classical, opera, pop, country and Big Band. He loved exchanging ideas about history and
intellectual subjects with close friends. He also enjoyed live symphony and
drama.
Lawrence is
survived by his loving wife, Scheryl, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage,
together with daughters, Anne Du Bois (Scott Du Bois) of Port Perry, Ontario,
Canada and Catherine LoMonico (Steven Greenblatt) of Wilton, NY, brother,
Michael C. LoMonico and wife Fran LoMonico of Stony Brook, NY, sister-in-law
Yvonne LoMonico of Valley Stream, NY, brother-in-law James Weaver and wife
Palin Bree of Mineral Wells, TX, grandchildren: Samuel Du Bois, Antonia Du
Bois, Max Greenblatt and Zoe Greenblatt, three nieces and one nephew.
He is
preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Charles LoMonico.
A private
family Mass will be held at St. Clements with internment at Saratoga National
Cemetery.

We will miss our wonderful friend Larry. His sense of humor had no equal. We spent many evenings with Larry discussing religion, sharing books, eating, going to shows and concerts. We were so blessed to have known you. You are always present in our lives. We know where you are. Rest in Peace and we will meet again. Our most sincere condolence to his family.
