SARATOGA SPRINGS - Dorothy Almeda (Dominy) Sunderland, age 91, passed into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Wesley Nursing Home.
She was born on May 17, 1924 in the town of Ellenburg, NY to
the late Peter and Matilda Tillie Spoor Dominy.
Dorothy was a homemaker who was kind, loving and a warm
person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her brothers; Jim Dominy of Oriskany,
NY and Jake Dominy of Rome, NY, her
children; Karen Sunderland of Reno, NV, Linda Sunderland of Saratoga Springs,
NY, Kim Anderson of Ballston Spa., NY and her daughter-in-law; Margaret (Wall)
Sunderland of Ft. Edward, NY. Her grandchildren
and great grandchildren; Tracy Novotny of Greenfield, NY, Michelle Realejo and
her son Gavin of New Bedford, MA, Heather LaMarque and her sons Eric Sunderland
and Owen LaMarque of Hudson Falls, NY, Kristin Anderson and her son Raymond Dacier
of Ballston Spa., NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express a Special thank you to
Dorothy’s niece Jane (Nichols) Wood and her husband Gary and her nephew Jim
Nichols for being there for Dorothy all those years her daughter took care of
her.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December
11, 2015 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., (Rte. 9 and/or Marion
Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Calling
hours will be held from 12 noon – 1 pm prior to the service.
Interment will be held at the South Wilton Cemetery, Route
50, Saratoga Springs, NY.
Donations and/or contributions towards the Burial expenses
would be very much appreciated. Please

Dear Aunt Dorothy will always be remembered as that favorite aunt we visited so many times when we drove up from New Jersey with our parents. She always had a treat for us, always had spare beds, and we had many a good time during our visits. When we moved to the same neighborhood years later, we shared many Thanksgivings with Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Dwight and their family. All those memories are greatly cherished. We pray for her and for all our relatives and friends who have passed into eternity, and for all those who remain behind in sorrow. RIP Aunt Dorothy. You will be missed.
