Arnold W. Bruno
Arnold W. Bruno, 68, of Wilton Gansevoort Road died unexpectedly Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born April 5, 1945 in Troy, NY, he was the son of
Chauncey D. and Lauretta O. (Millington) Bruno and grew up in Clifton Park.
Arnold served a tour of duty in the US Marine Corps
in Vietnam from 1962-1965.
On Sept 12, 1970 he married Catherine J. Bruno.
He was employed at the General Electric Company in
Schenectady, NY where he worked in various positions, retiring in 1998 as a
power plant operator.
He was a founding and life member of the Wilton Emergency
Squad, Inc where he served in various positions over the years.
His past-times included ham radio, operating under
KA2APN, flying as a private pilot, camping, computers,
and helping others. In retirement, he enjoyed going to Florida in the winter
and working in the back yard.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by his father in
law Harold Montgomery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cathe
Bruno of Wilton, his son Jeffrey W. Bruno and his wife Debra L. (Berg) Bruno and his grandchildren whom he adored
greatly- Logan & Emily Bruno all of Saratoga Springs.
A brother Curtis Bruno of Fonda and a sister Lois Bruno
of Clifton Park.
His mother in law Frances Montgomery and his sister in
law Francyne Cunningham both of Clifton Park
Several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great
nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July
25 at Compassionate
Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs followed by a committal
service with military honors at 1:00pm at
Saratoga National Cemetery. A
reception will follow at Wilton Emergency Squad, 1 Harran Lane, Wilton.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm
Wednesday, July 24 at the
funeral home.

ReplyDeleteWe will miss a tremendous leader who dedicated his life to bettering the emergency services in Wilton and in Saratoga County. The thoughts and prayers of all the emergency services community go out to Cathe and all of Arnold's family. One only need look around to see the legacy of Arnold Bruno in the Wilton Emergency Squad, the Town of Wilton and their emergency planning, the ham radio community, and in the many organizations he contributed to. Godspeed to our brother and dear friend.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of Arnold's passing. He was such a comfort when he and his crew took my father in law to the hopspital, may years ago. Always a friend anytime we saw him, especially at a amature radio event.
