Rita S. (Platek) Sacks

Rita S. Sacks passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital following a short period of declining health.  She was 85.

Born on July 2, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of Benjamin and Alys (Grichman) Platek.

A longtime resident of Old Bridge, NJ, she was employed for many years as a law office paralegal and manager. Growing up she was an accomplished artist and had her work published in commercial magazines. She graduated from Brooklyn College and married shortly after.  Raising three boys, they followed Alan’s business ventures, moving to Ohio, Indiana and finally settling in NJ.  She worked in real estate law for over 50 years before retiring at age 77. She loved camping (RV’ing) in Lake George, playing computer games and spending time with family and friends.  She was known as “Gigi” and Grandma to her 5 grandson’s and enjoyed following their sport’s teams and attending games when she could. She relocated three years ago to Adirondack Manor in Queensbury, NY.  She continued to be amazed by the advances in technology, keeping contact with friends through social media, facetime, and playing the oldies for her friends at the Manor using on-line music apps with her Ipad.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Alan A. Sacks (1988) and a son Sanford J. Sacks (1976).

Survivors include 2 sons:  Stuart Sacks and his wife Kathleen of Clifton Park and N. Scott Sacks and his wife Cathy of Burke, VA.

Grandchildren: Michael Sacks and his wife Claire of Stamford, CT, Justin Sacks of Ashburn, VA; Daniel, Kyle, and Peter Sacks all of Clifton Park.

A brother Rabbi Stanley Platek and his wife Ceil of Long Island.

Twelve nieces and nephews.

Burial was at Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ.

A get-together for family and friends in honor of Rita/Mom/Gigi/Grandma will be held from 7pm to 9pm Thursday, June 27 at the home of Stuart & Kathleen Sacks, 56 Brookline Drive, Clifton Park, NY.

Lori J. DeLoriea Chamberlain, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Peters Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Corinth, NY the daughter of the late Donald DeLoriea and Barbara Swiderski LeBarron.

Lori was a people person, she loved to care for people; she worked as a Home Health Aid for many years.  She had a great love for music, dancing and spending time at Huddle Bay in Bolton Landing, Lake George.

Lori is survived by her mother Barbara LeBarron, Greenfield Ctr, NY; sister Kathleen Fitzgerald (Darryl), Ballston Spa., NY; brothers David DeLoriea, Gansevoort, NY, Timothy DeLoriea, Malta, NY and Ronald DeLoriea San Antonio, Tx.,and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs. The Very Rev. Paul Borowski, pastor, will officiate.
Friends and family may call on Monday June 24th from 5-7 pm at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., (Rte. 9) Saratoga Springs, NY.

Interment following the service at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.

Jamie Jo McBride (55) of Saratoga Springs NY, died Friday June 7, 2013 after suffering fatal injuries incurred after being struck by a vehicle in Saratoga Springs NY.  

Born in Ithaca NY to James and Virginia McBride, she grew up in Norwich NY, received her bachelor’s from SUNY Cortland, NY and her master's from Bowling Green State University, OH.  She was a Speech Language Pathologist in both Connecticut and Washington State.   

Previously married to Gregory Tardanico of Mukilteo WA, Jamie will be loved and missed by her many friends and family members.  

She is survived by her son, James (23), her daughter, Jacqueline (16) both of Mukilteo WA; her sister, Virginia McBride (Schindler) of Springville, NY and mother, Virginia Stanford (McBride) of Saratoga Springs NY, along with many nieces and nephews.  

Jamie will most lovingly be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother to two beautiful children and her quiet yet fierce advocacy for the disadvantaged, especially for the autistic, traumatically brain injured and the homeless.

Donna E. Abraham


Donna E. Abraham

Donna Eleanor Abraham, 78, of Wilton, passed away on June 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.  Born March 5, 1935, in South Glens Falls, N.Y., Donna was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice LaBarge Plude.  She was married to her beloved husband Louis Abraham for 55 years until his passing on Jan. 4, 2009.

Survivors include her four children:  Gerald Abraham, Robert Abraham and his wife Joanne, Paul Abraham and his wife Nancy, and Dawn Bennett and her husband Scott, her 4 Grandsons; Christopher and Daryll Abraham, Michael Abraham and his wife Marci, Jason Abraham and his wife Melissa, and 4 great grandchildren; Christopher Abraham Jr., Grace and Ethan Abraham and McKenna Cook.
Donna was also survived by her twin Darlene Whiting, and sisters Marcia Eavans and Lois Manion, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband, Louis, and sister, Sharon Flewelling.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to The Pines Nursing Home in Glens Falls which took such wonderful care of their mother.   

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 am at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rt. 9), Saratoga Springs, NY where friends and family may call on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donna may be made to The Pines at Glens Falls Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, 170 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Aison, Hilda

Hilda Aison


Hilda Aison, age 90, passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at Wesley Health Care Center.

She was born on December 21st, 1922 in Saratoga Springs, New York to Jacob and Rebecca Aison.

Hilda is survived by her nephews: Everett Aison of Bellingham, WA; Howard (Margaret) Aison of Amsterdam, NY; Scott Aison; Steven Aison, nieces: Eunice (Steven) Schwartz of Johns Creek, GA; Sondra (Marshall) Lipman of Williamsville, NY and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews

Hilda was an avid walker.  She was a long time volunteer/worker at Wesley Health Care Center, at the Saratoga Tourism Booth, and at the Saratoga County Board of Elections.  For many years, her father Jacob owned Jakes Grill on Putnam St in Saratoga Springs.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Nathan, Robert and Max and her sister Selda.

A graveside service will be held at the Congregation Shaara Tfille, 84 Weibel Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY a  t 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13th, 2013.

Todd Elthan Peacock

 

      
Todd Elthan Peacock, 44 passed away on Sunday June 9, 2013, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Todd was born in Saratoga Spring, N.Y. on January 27, 1969 and raised in Greenfield Center. He attended Saratoga Springs High School. He was the son of Elthan Peacock and Susan Bondzinski.

Todd was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed ice fishing on Lake George and Schroon Lake.  Most of all he enjoyed hunting with his dad.  He loved spending time with his family.

While in New Mexico, Todd was employed by the Boca Ranch as a patrolman
to watch for elk poachers.

Todd was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local Union 370 for 26 years.  He was an excellent carpenter.

While spending time with his mother and sister in Florida, Todd coached a Dixie Youth team with his uncle and brother in law. That year they won, and went to all stars.

Todd is survived by his father Elthan (Joan) Peacock of Greenfield Center, mother Susan (John) Bondzinski of Wildwood FL, Daughter Jasmine Everetts of Ballston Spa, Sister’s Kathy (Tim) Monica of Porter Corners, Ginger (Mike) Jacobs of  Wildwood FL, Stepsisters Debbie (Mike) Tallman of Saratoga Springs, Lori (Scott) Shultz of Niantic, Conn, Stepbrothers, George (Michele) Howe of Latham, Tim (Jeanne) Howe of Gansevoort, Mike (Tonni) Bondzinski of Ocala, FL, Bryan (Angela) Bondzinski of Houston, TX, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to; Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs.

We wish to thank Dr. Del Giacco and associates nursing staff on floor 310 at Saratoga Hospital and Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs.

Funeral service will be held on Wed. June 12, 2013, 11 am, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (route 9), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 where friends and family may call on Tuesday June 11, 2013, from 5-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Interment following the service in the family plot at Hutchings Cemetery located on Coy Road in the town of Greenfield.
