Theresa Gulbrandsen

Saratoga Springs

Theresa Gulbrandsen, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Home,
surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Harry and Theresa Bochman Doscher.  Terri married the love of her life, Arne Gulbrandsen on July 24, 1954. They spent 59 wonderful years together.

Terri graduated from Pearl River High School in 1945. She was an avid lover of music.
She was a highly regarded dramatic soprano. Her heart was connected to singing from
an early age when she started singing with a professional quartet called “The Delovlies”.
They performed around the east coast and had the honor of once singing for Vice
President Barkley. She was involved in many music groups including; The Manhasset,
Port Washington, and the Douglaston Music Study Clubs.

She would adorn her grandchildren with the most fantastic version of “Happy Birthday”
one could ever wish for. She remained studying and singing until her very late years.
Terri was full of class and grace. She was an avid reader and would always have a book
in her hand. She loved her family, friends, the arts and travel. She was a very fond of
Russia and was able to visit in 1999. She spent the last few years of her life with her
family in the town she loved, Saratoga Springs.

Terri is survived by her husband Arne; Sons, Eric (Carrie) and Doug (Stephanie)
Gulbrandsen; Sisters, Harriet Laliotes and Joan McKee; grandchildren, Lindsey, Emily
and Ian Gulbrandsen.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service in honor of Terri will be held on Sunday October 6th, 2:00 pm
at Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY with Rev.
Rich Hoffman officiating.

Friends and family may call on Sunday from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to the service at the
Funeral Home.

Private family interment at Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.

Morris Figelman



Morris Figelman

Morris Figelman died September 24, 2013.

Morris was born on September 15, 1928, in Saratoga Springs. After graduating from Saratoga High School in 1946, he joined the Army and was stationed at the Pentagon. After an honorable discharge, he majored in television and radio engineering at Hudson Valley Community College. He then worked for General Electric in Schenectady for about 30 years, first in manufacturing, then in quality control. Morris was an active member of his synagogue, Congregation Shaara Tfille, serving on its Board of Directors for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Morris will be warmly remembered for his many volunteer and philanthropic efforts after his retirement. He spent countless hours delivering meals to the home bound and also doing visitations at nursing homes. When he was younger, he loved playing golf and tennis. He was also an avid skier and runner. Saratoga's State Park was a favorite destination.

Morris is survived by his brother, Sol Figelman, of Saratoga Springs, NY; Sister Bertha Garbarsky, of Queens, NY; Devoted Nieces: Adele Abrahamse Roof, of Harrisonburg, VA and Anita Zatz, of Leesburg, VA; Grandniece: Augusta Abrahamse de Fuentes, of Washington, DC; Grandnephew: David Zatz and his wife Melissa, of Ashburn, VA.
Morris is predeceased by his parents, Israel and Bessie Figelman; brother, Irving Figelman; Sister-in-law, Freda Figelman; Sister, Betty Keveles.
Morris will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family, his many life-long friends, and all those in the community whose lives he impacted. His consistently positive attitude was his hallmark. 

Funeral Services and Interment will be Sunday, September 29, 2013, 1:00 p.m., at Congregation Shaara Tfille and Cemetery, 84 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs.

Douglas W. Bailiff





Douglas W. Bailiff, 38, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital.
He was a graduate of Schenectady High School and Modern Welding School of Schenectady.
Employed as a welder for Bonaccio Construction, Krause & Sons, and RI Welding.
Enjoyed rock climbing, fishing, camping, painting, drawing, and photography.
Survived by parents Barry & Laurie; wife Christine, three sons Ryan, Jeremy, and Andrew; 
brother Daniel and  wife Danelle; nephews Trenton & Jace; Niece Cooper; Aunt April who
helped with his care and he loved very much; paternal grandparents Carol Bailiff and late
Wesley Bailiff; maternal grandmother Donna L. Mabb and late Robert J. Blackmer; several
uncles and cousins.
The Family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering at 152 Thimbleberry Road, Malta.  Friends
may stop by on Saturday, Sept 28 between 2-4pm, family and friends from 6-9pm and family on

Sunday Sept 29 at 3pm.

John G. Gilooly




John G. Gilooly, 67, passed away on September 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with brain cancer.

Born on November 6, 1945 in Troy, to the late John and Catherine Gilooly, John attended Catholic Central H.S. and graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from SUNY at Buffalo.  He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Munich, Germany.  John had a passion for his work, John had a CPA practice in Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs.  He was a member of NYSCPA, AICPA and a member of the Professional Achievement Registry. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Paula Jones Gilooly, his cherished children Kristin Sica (Christopher), Lisa Pittman (Trey) and Sean Gilooly.  He was the adored Papa to Ashley and Liam Pittman and Carter and Lily Sica.  Also surviving are his sister Patricia Breen, brothers Albert (Vicki) and Richard (Charlene) Gilooly and Mother in law Mary Jones.  Also, several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Drs. Richard Farrell, Scott Morris and Susan Weaver and her staff at NYOH.   Also, Tammy, Trish, Laurie and Karen his Hospice angels and Frank and Janice DiNuzzo who gave him much love and support.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, September 8th from 4-6pm at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave Saratoga Springs.  A mass with Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Sept. 9, 2013 at 9:00am  in St. Clements Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs with the Rev. Timothy Keating C.Ss.R. presiding.

A committal service with military honors will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, at 11:00am.
