Lori (Coppola) Rubaszek


MIDDLE GROVE- Lori (Coppola) Rubaszek, 52, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015.

She was born in Glens Falls and is the daughter of Marion Coppola and the late Frank Coppola Sr.  Lori was predeceased by her husband Stephen in 2013. Lori was a graduate of Adirondack Community College where she had earned her nursing degree.

Fred Jurgens


SARATOGA SPRINGS     On Wednesday, November 25, 2015, Fred "Freddy" Jurgens of Saratoga Springs journeyed to his final heavenly home.  At his request, he was able to spend his last days in the home he built and passed away peacefully within the presence of his family.  He was 84.

Fred was born in Bochum, Germany and throughout his childhood lived in different areas of Germany.  He faced many difficult and dangerous times as a consequence of WW2.  The ability to survive those times instilled an inner strength in Fred that he maintained throughout his entire adult life.

In search of a better life after the war he sailed to Canada in 1951.  It was there that he met his British future wife, Anne Porter.  They were married in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1954 and emigrated to the USA to begin their new life together in 1956.  They became US citizens in 1962.

Glenn Azon



SARATOGA SPRINGS – Glenn Azon, 59, of Porter Corners, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital.

He was born in Woodside, Queens and was the son of the late Jose and Aurora Blandino Azon. Glenn graduated from Music & Art High School in New York City in 1974. 

He was very involved with the music and played a variety of woodwind instruments. Music was a very important part of Glenn’s life. He began playing with a band at age 15 which performed at weddings and parties. Glenn was blessed with perfect pitch and was known to irritate many of his teachers when he had to correct them. Glenn attended John Jay College where he studied criminal justice and became a police officer for the Metro North Police Department. In 1979, he began working at the Long Island Railroad where he attained the rank of Sergeant. In 1986, Glenn entered a vigorous 15 month training program to become a Locomotive Engineer, retiring in 2009.

Russell E. “Joe” Duffney, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 18, 1944 in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late Francis Duffney and Gertrude Bennett.

Russell E. DuBois

GANSEVOORT, NY - Russell E. DuBois, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 30, 1927 in Chicago, IL to the late Arthur Joseph DuBois and Helen Dorothy Dana.

At the families request, there will be no calling hours or service.

Maryetta M. (Dopp) Harris


BALLSTON SPA – Maryetta M. (Dopp) Harris, age 90, passed away peacefully at Saratoga Center for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing (formerly Maplewood Manor) on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, after a brief illness.

Born in Amsterdam on April 1, 1925, she was the daughter of Carrie (O’Brien) Dopp and Edward Dopp. Maryetta was predeceased by both parents, as well as her brother, Laverne Dopp.

In her early years, Maryetta was an accomplished vocalist, and was a member of the Mohawk Mills Choral Society for 15 years; she also had her own radio program on WGFM in 1946.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Patricia A. Kail, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

She was born in Schuylerville and was the daughter of the late Albert Almy and Dorothea Blanchard

Patricia had worked as a Quality Control Inspector with General Foods for several years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, and the joy of young children and animals.

Deborah Anne, Rafferty


HUDSON FALLS - Deborah Anne, Rafferty, 39 of Hudson Falls, NY  passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2015 . She was Born on November 17 , 1976 in Troy, New York.

She grew up in Lansingburg, NY and  graduated from Troy High School.  She enjoyed camping and spending time in Lake George. 

Deborah  is survived by her  son Matthew Rafferty (Samantha), daughters, Mia Anthony, Chloe Rafferty, and Meghan Murphy, her companion Richard Murphy, brothers Scott and Greg Rafferty, sisters, Janet Peters, Darlene Meleik, Dawn Watson  and many nieces, nephews and friends.    

Karen Sue Salley


Karen Sue Salley, a longtime resident of Saratoga Springs passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 59 on Tuesday, November 3rd after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 20th, 1956 in Schuylerville, New 
York was the daughter of the late Loren and Jean  Salley.

Karen is survived by her lifelong loving partner Bob “Sprocket” Eckardt, their son, Loren Eckardt and his wife Diana of Braunschweig, Germany, her sister Nancy Wood, brothers Joe, Tim and Dean Salley and her many nieces and nephews. Karen was a devoted employee of the Saratoga National Historical Park for 25 years from 1990 until 2015.
