Robert F. Kearns







Kingsbury

Robert Kearns passed away January 28 2014 with his loving family at his side in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was born on January 14, 1938 in Glens Falls, NY.

Bob was the owner of Doty Machine Works, in Fort Edward, NY and co- owned Carolina Dream Machines with his daughter Amy in Conway, SC.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Tilford) Kearns. His 7 children. MaryBeth Kearns of Rochester, NY. Bob Kearns of Delaware, Ohio. Jackie Boggs and her husband Kip of Delaware, Ohio Chris Kearns and his wife Christine of Hudson Falls, NY. Darryl Kearns of Argyle, NY. Matt Kearns and his wife Krissy of Delaware, Ohio. And Amy Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC. 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.  Sister Joan Talley (Jim) of Wilmington, Delaware. Brothers Roger(Sherry) Kearns of Lake George, NY Jerry (Sue) Kearns of Hudson Falls, NY. David (Sandy) Kearns of Hartford, NY. Terry (Cindy) Kearns of Fort Edward, NY. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Friday January 31st in South Carolina with all of Bobs children, some of his grandchildren and several of his close friends in attendance. Kip Boggs, Bobs son in law spoke of Bob in a loving, cheerful manner. Many of Bobs golfing buddies told of the adventures one under took while golfing with him. Others spoke of the lead foot Bob had while driving anything with a motor.

A local Memorial Service will be held at the Kingsbury Fire House in the spring and a full obituary will appear in a future edition of the Post Star prior to the service.

John Thomas Fischer




Gansevort
John Thomas Fischer, 59, of Gansevoort passed away on January 30, 2014, bringing his battle with COPD to an end as he was reunited with The Lord.  John was born on August 9, 1954 as the son of John Edward Fischer and Camilla Notargiacomo Fischer in Astoria, NY.  He spent much of his life in the garment industry and other management positions, including his work with the Salvation Army in New York and Massachusetts.  John loved to tell stories and to make others laugh.  In the final months of his life he often reflected on how much family meant to him, and expressed how thankful he was for the meaningful relationships he’d been able to establish with them.  

John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Laura Wilson of Elmira, NY, son Matthew Fischer of Wilmington, NC, and son and daughter-in-law Justin and Kristy Fischer of Gansevoort, NY, as well as his grandchildren Joshua, Jeffery, and Adam Wilson, Marcy and Marley Fischer, and Jacob, Kaitlynn, Elijah, and Benjamin Fischer.  He is also survived by his mother Camilla Fischer of Valley Stream, NY, his sister AnnMarie O’Malley of Valley Stream, NY, his brother Larry Fischer of Myrtle Beach, SC, and his sister Toni Dempsey of Long Beach, NY.  John was predeceased by his father, John Edward Fischer.

A memorial service will be held at Pine Knolls Alliance Church (614 Gansevoort Road in South Glens Falls, NY) on February 15th at 3pm, with a reception to follow at the church.  Please contact the church at (518)793-7101 for more information.

Benita Ann Durr





Benita Ann Durr entered into eternal life unexpectedly on January 29th, 2014 at the age of 43. 

Born August 1st, 1970 in Orlando, FL.   She was the daughter of Rev. Rose Durr and the late Robert Durr, Sr.

Benita will be remembered to all her family and friends as a great compassionate outgoing individual.  She will be greatly missed by all.

She is predeceased by her father Robert Durr, Sr. and sister Rosa Marie Durr.

She is survived by her mother, the Rev. Rose Durr; her son Eddie Lorman, Jr.; her daughters Zanasia Wicks and Habiba Ibrahim.  Her brothers Timothy Loving and Robert Durr, Jr. and sister Theresa Durr, dear friend; Donald E. Myers, cherished cousin; Shanda Steward and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 at the Universal Baptist Temple, 25 Washington St, Saratoga Springs. 
Friends and family may call from 11:00am – 11:45am on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 from 11:00am – 11:45am at the Universal Baptist Temple, prior to the service.
