Robert F. Kearns







Kingsbury

Robert Kearns passed away January 28 2014 with his loving family at his side in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was born on January 14, 1938 in Glens Falls, NY.

Bob was the owner of Doty Machine Works, in Fort Edward, NY and co- owned Carolina Dream Machines with his daughter Amy in Conway, SC.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Tilford) Kearns. His 7 children. MaryBeth Kearns of Rochester, NY. Bob Kearns of Delaware, Ohio. Jackie Boggs and her husband Kip of Delaware, Ohio Chris Kearns and his wife Christine of Hudson Falls, NY. Darryl Kearns of Argyle, NY. Matt Kearns and his wife Krissy of Delaware, Ohio. And Amy Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC. 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.  Sister Joan Talley (Jim) of Wilmington, Delaware. Brothers Roger(Sherry) Kearns of Lake George, NY Jerry (Sue) Kearns of Hudson Falls, NY. David (Sandy) Kearns of Hartford, NY. Terry (Cindy) Kearns of Fort Edward, NY. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Friday January 31st in South Carolina with all of Bobs children, some of his grandchildren and several of his close friends in attendance. Kip Boggs, Bobs son in law spoke of Bob in a loving, cheerful manner. Many of Bobs golfing buddies told of the adventures one under took while golfing with him. Others spoke of the lead foot Bob had while driving anything with a motor.

A local Memorial Service will be held at the Kingsbury Fire House in the spring and a full obituary will appear in a future edition of the Post Star prior to the service.

  1. My condolences to Bob's family. I had the privilege to say I grew up with Bob and spent a lot of time in the Kearns home. His parents and Grandmother leave fond memories as well as brothers and sister. We have a Kearns living on my road here in Fort Ann. A nephew I believe of Robert. I can't remember his name. Good to have a Kearns close by again. May Bob rest in peace.
