Charles M. “Chuck” Palmateer, age 53, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 5, 1961 in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late Sherman G. Palmateer and Patricia Mitchell.  He was a resident of the Saratoga area all of his life where he made friends with his quick sense of humor and friendliness.

Chuck was a hard worker, beginning his work life in plumbing and heating. Chuck was a heating installer for Apollo Heating Inc. in Schenectady for many years. 

Chuck enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, swimming, camping, playing cards, and listening to music with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion sons and daughters in Saratoga Springs. He enjoyed driving his classic Chevy El Camino on day trips to visit relatives and friends.

Chuck is survived by his mother Patricia “Trish”, and seven of eight brothers, Sherman, Jerry, Billy, Donny, Scotty, Pat and Craig. Also his Uncle Billy Mitchell, Aunt Janice Mitchell, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Sherman G. Palmateer, brother; Peter Palmateer, Uncles; Steve Mitchell and Uncle Peter Mitchell.

A Graveside service in honor of Charles will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the South Wilton Cemetery, Route 50, Saratoga Springs, NY at 4:30 pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

  1. Good Bye Chuck...Fran and I miss you...and it's true, sometimes you were truly a funny guy, and, too, a hard worker. You've left us long before your time, which needn't have been...our loss. But now you are not hurting anymore. Our condolences to you, Trish. We are thinking of you.
